"Meteorites
and their Impacts:
an Introduction to Past and
Impending Disasters"
Meteoroids, meteors, and
meteorites all come in various compositions and sizes. Many are small minor planets in their own
right, while others are leftover dust and debris from comets and/or other solar
system processes. This talk will center
around the major types of meteorites and their origins in addition to the
results of their encounters with the planet Earth... which can be anything from
the gentle settling of dust-size particles to massive extinction generators.
Please join us for light refreshments at 4:15pm
outside WSC 109.
