"The Physics of Ground Fault
Interrupters
(How to save your life for less than $5.00)"
Few people understand the purpose of that curious
wall outlet with the "Test Monthly"
and "Reset" buttons on it, and far fewer know how it
works. The underlying physics of how a
GFI works will be discussed and demonstrated.
Electrical safety and wiring practice will also be discussed. The
National Electrical Code requires ground fault interrupters (GFI/GFCI) in all
situations where there is risk of
electrocution due to a ground fault.
Bathrooms, kitchens, garages, and outdoor outlets should all be
protected by a GFI. Come learn more
about the "Physics of Everyday Life."
